Woman treated after being hit by car in Melton

Police have confirmed the reason for Leicester Road in Melton being closed yesterday evening.

The road was closed outside the town's Aldi store just before 4pm yesterday.

Today (Friday) Leicestershire Police confirmed the reason for the closure.

A Police Spokesperson said: "Police were called to a report of a road traffic collision at 3.47pm involving a car and a pedestrian.

It was reported that the woman fell into the path of the car, which was travelling on Leicester Road, Melton, sustaining a minor head injury. She was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for observations."

The road was reopened at around 5.25pm.
