Following the latest Government announcement that restrictions are to be eased in England from Monday, Leicestershire County Council have changed how waste sites will operate.
An update on their website today states that from Monday you no longer need to book a tip slot to visit a Recycling and Household Waste Site.
During the lockdowns in England residents in the Melton Borough had to previously book tip slots in order to dispose of waste as the lockdown saw many residents tidying up their houses and gardens.

An update posted on their website today says: "Based on current government information on Coronavirus restrictions, which could change, to visit a waste site up to and including Sunday 18 July you must book an appointment. Please do not turn up without one as you will be turned away."
The statement continues: "From Monday 19 July no appointments are necessary to visit a waste site, but vans, pick-ups and cars with trailers, and any vehicle bringing asbestos, chemicals or liquid paint, must have a Waste Permit."
If you already have an appointment to visit a waste site during the week 19 - 25 July, you don't need a waste permit for that visit only.
