Wall damaged after two car collision in Melton

A garden wall was left damaged after a two car collision in Thorpe Road, Melton overnight.


Police were called at 23:15 to reports of a two car collision last night (Wednesday).


A Leicestershire Police Spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 3 February) by a member of the public reporting a collision involving two cars in Melton.

One of the vehicles had collided with the wall of an address in Thorpe Road. The East Midlands Ambulance Service and colleagues from Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident.

A woman was taken to hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged. No other injuries were reported. A 25-year-old woman arrested in connection with the incident remains in police custody."

The Fire Service helped with getting casualties out of their vehicles including removing the roof from one of the cars.


A Leicestershire Fire & Service Spokesperson said: "We received a call around 23:31 hours from the Police to a road traffic collision involving two cars, one of which had gone into a garden wall.

One casualty was extricated from a car using a full roof removal and left in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service while another casualty was extricated and assessed by the fire service."
