A Melton theme park has been granted planning permission to put in a glamping site.
Twinlakes, in Melton Spinney Road, has got permission to add the campsite to its 100 acres of land.
The theme park approached Melton-based HSSP architects to assist them with the project which will see wider improvements including cycle path links and new play areas.
HSSP say that there will be 20 pods in total and a new hub for amenities. The site is well screened by mature trees and foliage which will be retained and enhanced with the addition of more planting and a new central green space. The positioning of the pods creates private spaces within the existing greenery.

A spokesman for HSSP said: “We are absolutely delighted that Melton Borough Council have granted planning permission for the project. They have appreciated this will support Twinlakes and local businesses to flourish and have a positive impact on the local economy, whilst keeping the appearance of the countryside intact.”
Twinlakes approached HSSP with a view that visitors can stay over and spend more time enjoying the rides or feeding the animals.

The spokesman for HSSP added: “The pods have been designed bespoke for this site and are fabulous. They encompass everything one needs for a few nights away; a lounge, kitchenette, wet room, sleeping areas and a terrace. They are complemented with an amenities hub that houses the reception, security, shop, communal kitchenette and meeting space, and a secure bike store. It will be an idyllic car free zone, with parking limited to the main site car park.”
