Emergency services remain on scene between Leicester and Melton Mowbray after a person was sadly hit by a train this morning.
Trains are currently either delayed or cancelled in both directions from Melton station.
A statement online from National Rail says: “A person has been hit by a train between Leicester and Melton Mowbray. As all lines are currently closed, trains may be cancelled or diverted until approximately 09:00.”

Update: 08:30. Emergency services remain at the scene but normal train services are now running.
