Severn Trent Water who are working in Sherrard Street in Melton are working hard to repair a burst water main which caused major disruption when it ripped up the road and pavements on Friday.
A temporary road closure is in place from Sage Cross Street to enable work to be carried out.
Today a spokesperson told us: “We’d like to thank everyone for their continued patience while we’ve been working hard throughout the weekend to return the road back to normal. We understand temporary road closures like this can be frustrating, which is why we’re doing everything we can to finish the job as quickly as possible.”
Water supply to local houses and businesses was not distrusted during the incident or repairs.
