It’s been confirmed that Scalford Road will be closed for just over a month to allow for more bypass works.
The road will be closed from the roundabout at the new Bloor Homes development going North past the roundabout.
It comes after we reported that Burton Road will be closed for over a month from 1st July to install a new roundabout there.
Scalford Road will be closed from 6am on Monday 15th July to 8pm on Sunday 25th August.

It’s to allow contractors GallifordTry to install a new roundabout during the school holidays.
In an update a spokesperson for the firm said: “ A full road closure is required to safely complete the new roundabout construction works as part of the NEMMDR project. This work cannot be carried out using a partial lane closure due to the narrow nature of the existing road and the level differences between existing and new construction. There would be insufficient
width to undertake this section of works safely under temporary traffic lights.
Some of the works include removal of the existing carriageway and reconstruction to a new alignment with service trenches and excavations across the full length of the carriageway. We anticipate this closure will
enable the completion of the new roundabout without the requirement for further closures at this location.”
Details of the official signed diversion route are as follows:
Travelling from Melton: Access will be possible up to the Bloor Homes new housing development
roundabout, just north of John Fernley College. Scalford Road will be closed from this roundabout to the north
and no further access permitted. For Scalford village, please follow the diversion via A607 to Waltham on the Wolds.
Travelling from Scalford: The road will be closed from Holwell Lane with access for residents only up to the closure point (adjacent to Grammar School Farm). Scalford Road will be closed towards Melton from this
point and no further access permitted. For Melton, please follow the diversion via A607 Waltham on the Wolds.
