Police uncover cannabis grow after reports of suspicious activity

A number of cannabis plants were found in a house after officers investigated reports of suspicious activity over the weekend.


Leicestershire Police entered the propery in Main Road, Asfordby Valley, following reports of suspicious activiity within a house and once inside discovered a number of cannabis plants.


Foresnsic teams were spotted at the property on Saturday morning and officers had to disassemble the grow and remove all the plants in Saturday's high temperatures.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "Officers entered a property on Main Road, Asfordby, around 11.15am on Saturday (22 June) following concerns about suspicious activity within a house.  A number of cannabis plants were found inside the property.  Enquiries are ongoing into the find and no arrests have been made at this time."


It's the fourth reported cannabis grow that's been discovered by officers in the last few months with others in Waltham, Bottesford and Melton's Penman Spicer Hall in recent months.


Police added that if anyone has any information they are asked to get in touch via 101 and quote crime number 24*367286.
