Police determine that no criminal offences committed in Old Dalby investigation

Police have confirmed that no criminal offences have taken place in a local village after reports of three men following a teenage girl.


Leicestershire Police received a report on Saturday 5th October that a 17 year old girl had been followed by three men unknown to her in Old Dalby.


The incident was reported to have happened in a field between Lawn Lane and Six Hills Lane.


Officers from Melton Police station have now issued a further update on the incident advising that following police interviews, no criminal activies have taken place.




In a statement on social media they said: "We would like to inform our local community that an investigation into an incident in Old Dalby on Saturday (5 October) has now concluded.

Three men who were identified by officers have been interviewed and it has been determined that no criminal offences were committed."


Social media posts were speculating about the incident with some sharing false information.


The statement added: " We are aware of posts on social media referring to this incident and would urge the public not to speculate further or post misinformation that could be considered harmful. Thank you once again for your co-operation and understanding."


A spokesperson confirmed that all other parties concerned in the report have been informed of this outcome.
