Police close Scalford Road for ambulance service

Police have issued an update following the closure of Scalford Road, Melton this morning.


Police have said they closed the road to allow East Midlands Ambulance Service to perform treatment on a man in a car who became unwell.

A Leicestershire Police Spokesperson said: "Shortly before 6.30am today (Tuesday 19 October) a report was received from the East Midlands Ambulance Service stating a man had been taken ill in a vehicle in Scalford Road, Melton."


Officers attended and closed the road to allow colleagues from EMAS to provide treatment. However, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene"


Police added that his death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
