Police appeal after second motorbike fatality in days

Police are appealing for witnesses following a second motorcyclist death in recent days.


Officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Stathern Lane, Harby, near Melton yesterday (Monday).


A report was received at 2.44pm yesterday (Monday) by a member of the public who had come across a motorcyclist who had come off their Silver Honda motorcycle.


East Midlands Ambulance Service also attended.


The motorcyclist – a man in his 60s – was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.


Although the report was received at 2.44pm, Police say that the incident may have happened earlier in the day.



Officers from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident and are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.


Detective Constable Emma Neeves said: “A man has sadly lost his life and full support is being provided to his family at this time.

“We are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.
