Multiple fire crews tackle flat fire

Fire crews were mobilised to reports of smoke coming from a set of flats in Waltham on The Wolds on Sunday morning.

Fire Control received a 999 call at 00:06 to reports of smoke issuing from flats and they mobilised four fire appliances and the Aerial Ladder Platform to fight the blaze.

A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Spokesperson said: “ Damage was severe by fire to 1st floor flat; severe by smoke and water to ground floor flat and severe by smoke, heat and water to 2 adjacent flats. The cause was believed to be accidental.”
