Parents are being asked to check their inboxes this evening (Thursday) to find an email about the news.
in a statement posted on their Facebook page, the College said: “We are closed to all Year 9 students on Friday 20th November due to a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 this evening. During the course of tomorrow morning we will complete an internal 'track and trace' to confirm those close contact students who will need to self-isolate.”
The statement was posted just after 8pm.
It continued: “From Monday, the intention will be that the majority of Year 9 students will be back in school, with only the identified 'close contacts' needing to self-isolate for a further set amount of time - further communications to follow tomorrow.”
Remote Learning will be set for students via their school day timetable on 'Teams'. For assistance with Remote Learning, please visit the Remote Learning help section on the school website. https://www.johnferneley.org/remotelearning
They finished the statement with: “Please ensure your Year 9 student is not within a public space during the course of tomorrow since all are currently deemed to be 'self-isolating'.”
