Hundreds of people watched as horses and dogs arrived in the town park to be greeted by officials from Melton Mowbray Town Estate.
It was the 40th year that the meet has taken place but traditionally it happens on New Years Day but the Belvoir Hunt do not meet in Melton on Sundays.

Leicestershire Police were in attendance following a number of anti-hunt protesters at the event last year but there were no incidents at this year's gathering.
The hunt then left on horseback through the town and down Saxby Road towards Freeby.
