Police have released details of a drugs warrant which was carried out in Melton Mowbray today (Thursday).

The warrant was carried out along with officers from the Force's Special Operations Team who forced entry into the property in Rutland Street following concerns of drug related activity in the area.

In an update officers said: "Earlier this afternoon, we carried out a drugs related warrant at a property in Rutland Street, Melton Mowbray. We executed the warrant in response to local community concerns around drug related activity happening in the area."

"With the support of our TST (Tactical Support Team) colleagues from headquarters, we gained entry to the property. Upon searching the property, a quantity of cash, drugs and drug related paraphernalia were found."
Melton Police have confirmed this evening that four people inside the property were arrested for being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs and are currently in custody awaiting questioning.
