Firefighters from across the County responded to reports of a fire on a commercial estate this morning.

Crews were called just after 7:30 this morning (Tuesday) following reports of a moke issuing from the roof of a large industrial unit. A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue spokesperson said: Appliances from Melton, Loughborough, Birstall and Eastern stations along with the Command Support Vehicle from Shepshed station.
On arrival crews located the fire in a shredding unit of a fridge recycling centre.
4 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and 1 covering jet are in use.
The fire has now been extinguished and the shredder is being dismantled and allowed to cool.”
