Firefighters have rescued a casualty from a flat fire in Melton.
The Fire Service were called at 17:35 this evening (Saturday) following reports of a flat fire in Bentley Street, Melton.

Two crews from Melton and one from Oakham attended the incident.
A Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Call received to Domestic Fire, on arrival confirmed as flat fire, four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, positive pressure ventilation fan and one covering jet used. One casualty rescued from first floor window using 9 metre ladder, taken to hospital via road Ambulance. All persons accounted for.”

Leicestershire Police also attended the incident.
The scene is now being preserved for a police and fire investigation.
