Cannabis grow discovered in town centre premises

Police and Forensic officers have been in attendance at a cannabis grow at a property in Melton Town Centre today.


Police say that the discovery was made yesterday inside the premises which is believed to be the Turk Nazz restaurant in Leicester Street, Melton which has been inactive for a while now.


Officers from the Force's Tactical Support Group were seen at the property this morning (Thursday) along with forensics teams and a number of police officers.

A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "I can confirm that officers are in attendance at a cannabis grow at a premises in Leicester Street, Melton Mowbray.

 

The grow was discovered yesterday morning (Wednesday 2 April) with around 50-100 plants found inside and cultivation equipment."

It also appears that the electricity to the property has been cut off by network suppliers.

 

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
