Melton Borough has been hit with heavy rain and snow overnight causing localised flooding including major routes in and out of Melton.
Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service has said they have been called to multiple incidents across the County and have declared a major incident.
Leicestershire Police have said they are also getting lots of 999 calls with the areas most severely affected being Melton, Rutland and South Leicestershire. There are also flood alerts in place for parts of Charnwood.
Residents on Saxby Road in Melton have been rescued from their houses after the road flooded and some drivers ignoring warnings and causing more damage by driving through floods causing wash in to peoples front rooms.
Tesco on Thorpe Road also remains closed as the brook as burst its bank nearby causing the road to be impassible.
Asfordby Road in and out of town is also blocked by flood water as well as Asfordby, Asfordby Hill and Asfordby Valley.
Melton Mowbray Town Estate have also confirmed that the Town's Play Close Park is under water, not something seen in Melton since the major floods some years ago.
