Armed officers were deployed to Melton earlier this evening (Saturday) following reports of a man with an axe threatening another man.
Leicestershire Police were alerted to the incident in Sage Cross Street, Melton, just after 6:30pm after reports of a man with an axe threatening another man.

Armed officers were sent to the incident and a man was later arrested just outside the Town Centre.
A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 6.37pm today (Saturday) to Sage Cross Street, Melton Mowbray, following a report that a man was in possession of an axe and was making threats to another man.
In the interests of public and officer safety, armed officers were deployed to the scene.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested in the area of Asfordby Road, Melton, on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon."

Multiple police vehicles were spotted on Asfordby Road, close to Melton Theatre, while the man was arrested. No injuries have been reported.
The spokesperson added: "Officers remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the report."
It's understood that Melton Theatre was not impacted by the incident.
